OurBrief History

The Kentucky Aviation Historical Society was formed in March 2009. Our primary mission is to locate, preserve and display aviation artifacts.

Our focus is on Bowman Field and the rich history and development of the air field. We hope to become the source book on people, planes and organizations important to the development of aviation in our community.

A unique feature of the Kentucky Aviation Historical Society is that we do not restrict ourselves to the past. We intend to document current activities and look forward to the future. Today's activities become tomorrow's history.

As part of our look forward we are partnering with local schools who provide aviation programs by endowing them with scholarships to worthy students.

We are committed to the preservation of the past, documenting the present and to build the future.
